Monday Muse | Lauren Bacall

Smart, witty, sultry, and a lady of the classic and simple tailored appeal. She perfected the masculine/feminine look with an understated sense of glamour (a red lip). Her favorite wardrobe piece-her crisp white shirt. She is timeless.

The Shirt-Dress….

Since we are on the subject of wearing white cotton- along with the classic white shirt, comes the extended version, it’s sister.…the shirt-dress.

Note: another staple in your summer wardrobe. Cool, comfortable and classic, goodness knows mine has been with me a while.

I trotted around town in it all weekend long, it was 106 degrees on Saturday!

Simply Summer

The summer means stripping down to the comfortable basics, down to the things that are cool (as in temperature), relaxing, timeless, and effortlessly chic. In my experience, that feels like a simple everyday white dress, a straw sunhat, and a pair of favorite espadrilles. Finish it off with the lovely smell of a summer fragrance and a bright poppy red-orange lip. It's all you will ever need, all summer long. Happy Summer!

Linda Rodin + The Row

Did you see the images of style and beauty maker Linda Rodin in the recent Row campaign? I just loved the fact that the Olsen sisters embrace the simple, chic and understated elegance of a sophisticated woman. The graceful age of Linda, a black + neutral palette, minimal lines, luxurious fabrics and precise tailoring. It all just brings this collection to another level all together, iconic.

Classic Kate Moss

Seriously, what could be a better formula than a pair of chic black knee high boots, a black turtleneck sweater and Kate Moss in black + white photo? Stuart Weitzman had the right idea again for his fall 2013 campaign. Sometimes just a simple backdrop paired with the timeless essentials are best. Turtlenecks are one of my favorite f/w staples (especially in black), so yeah that’s pretty much what my fall uniform looks like all season. Well...minus running around in my underwear of course!
