Oxblood + Velvet

The winter season in Tucson is such a special thing, the days are overcast and the air is crisp, (but not frozen over), and the spirit of a desert Christmas weighs heavy around the corner. On one of these beautiful winter afternoons, Puspa and I wandered around the original adobe barrios of downtown Tucson, I in my vintage 1970s oxblood and velvet suit of course! I just couldn't wait for the cool winter days in the desert to come, so I could wear this suit I had been so anxiously awaiting to, and on this day I did- enough said. Wishing you, my lovely readers a happy holiday season, from the old pueblo. Many blessings and peace for the new year to come! xo

Erin Wasson + One Kings Lane

Don't you just love the curated style collaborations that One Kings Lane does? I feel like they always pick people who have the best personal style, spirit and esthetic. For a recent home tour collection, they teamed up with bohemian beauty and all around cool lady Erin Wasson, (who is a kindred vintage hunter + collector). The sale of amazing objects is long over, but the pictures of her lovely eclectic space still remain for your viewing pleasure.  It is chalk full of her vintage treasures, collections and just feels cozy, beautifully personal and humble to me. I love how Erin mentioned the process of seeking out and surrounding yourself with the things you love- a buy what you love figure out where to put it later approach. I can totally relate to that statement, being a collector your eye naturally draws towards the things you love first, then the design should work around those things, always. I feel like the creativity always comes when you are in your happiest element. Well said and done Erin! So when can we have a cup of coffee and chat about our latest found treasures?

Remembering Lauren

It is no secret around these parts that Lauren Bacall was one of my favorite actresses of the silver screen. The last of her dying genre and a true Old Hollywood talent, she was one of my recent #mondaymuse features. Lauren was a legend that exuded timeless style, wit, natural beauty and understated grace. I associate her films with some of my first exposures to the love of vintage fashion and beauty, that would follow me around for a lifetime. To Have and Have Not (among others) was my Grandmother's favorite movie (she had a crush on Humphrey of course!) and I have fond memories watching it by her side as a young girl. I would never tire of hearing that husky voice and looking at those piercing eyes. Today, I wanted to post a couple of my favorite images of the Golden Era's leading lady, to honor her memory and impact on my life. Farewell Lauren, save travels and congratulations on meeting Bogie at the gates. Thank you for being you and always showing us your face, may you rest in peace dear.
