We all know that playing hostess is a busy job. You never really get to sit and soak, well maybe for the span of about five minutes until someone  needs a refill, or you have to refill the snack dish. Being comfortable while still looking polished is the key, especially if you are hosting in the comforts of your own home.

Transition to Fall

As we make the transition towards fall, all I can think about is the crisp air, cozy sweaters, and a warm cup of coffee in hand (preferably while perusing a bookstore or antique shop). 

These are the classic essentials that are on my radar for fall: 

a cozy cable knit sweater, a favorite pair of jeans, a chic hat to hide the lazy hair days (we all have them!), a comfortable pair of boots, and a classic black leather strap timepiece and handbag. Can we just talk about this manhattan zip code scarf? And don’t you just love the juxtaposition of these fabulous earrings with said leather baseball cap? Certainly tomboy chic, no?

Saturdays with Kate Spade

today is saturday, the best day of the week! i don’t know about you, but i can’t wait for saturdays. as if i didn’t love kate spade enough already, just take a peek at the new kate spade collection saturday. it pays complete tribute to #thebestdayever. i am so excited to soon own a piece of this bright and cheery new line. it looks right up my alley with it’s b+w striped patterns, pops of color and simple saturday silhouettes. the entire line launches for sale in march, but here is a sneak peak of some of the items i am currently coveting up for sale at fab.com. i am just dying over the lyrics on the i-phone case!

a new year and a fresh space

Starting off the new year right means having an organized working space. One where you can feel constantly inspired and motivated on a daily basis. Surrounded by the things you love, be it your favorite art work, books, stationary, reminders, or just a pretty bouquet of your first pick of flowers.

a holiday wish list

Ahhh... It is nice to sit down with a cup of tea, relax, and check in with you all. Over the last week I had many projects brewing that kept me away from my computer. cozy days in paris….

Lately, I have been feeling fond of bundling up in a cozy sweater and flats and walking the streets in search of inspiration. Maybe to a bookstore, flea market or just planning my days and people watching from a cozy coffee shop. Ultimately, I am wishing I was doing all of the above mentioned in actual Paris. In light of my day dreaming, I found a few things that might help make me feel chic and close enough to Paris, to pretend I was. ten timeless coats

Investing in a good coat is something every lady must do! I must admit, coats are a bit of a fixation of mine. I start longing to wear them right about August, (totally inappropriate for my homeland of Arizona).  I just love the cozy feeling of bundling up under a coat and sipping on a cup of joe; while headed out for a day of treasure hunting or book store hopping. Not to mention, in a hurry, if you have the right coat on, it can just pull everything together beautifully (instant gratification!). Sometimes, it doesn’t even matter what you are wearing underneath. Vintage coats are a lovely staple, unique and fun to add to a growing collection, plus they are still very easy to find in good condition. The Collections | Spring 2013 {Part One}

Inspiration taken from the sixties was alive, well and abound on the runways this year. From Dolce and Gabbana to Lauren Moffatt and everything in between. All I can say is, my eyes were bigger than my head and I could hardly contain myself with delight!
