a painterly dress

I was off to a day of meetings and a lunch date with my mom, so I pulled out this dress for a day about town. A vibrant orange nineteen sixties sheath, with a pretty watercolor print.

le beret

This little round wool hat is a favorite accessory of mine during the fall and winter seasons. It has been a long time staple in my wardrobe and something I look forward to using over and over and over again. Simple, timeless, chic, and the bonus is; it provides an instant fix to a laid back hair day. What could be better? Here are a few style icons who must have felt the same way about LE BERET.

Kate Spade + Garance Dore

Can I just say that I am over the moon for all of the new goodies that just premiered at Kate Spade! The Garance Dore collection is just perfect.

Everything is perfectly playful and chic. With that whimsical little hint of girly + sophisticated women. I just want to eat it all up! Here are a few of the items that are on my wish list.

Happy Friday!

Vera

Vera Neumann is one of my favorite artist and textile designers from the sixties era. I just love her simple-cheerful patterns, pops of color and floral designs. Oh and of course her signature little ladybug! I have collected a few of her scarfs and some home decor pieces, such as napkins, tablecloths, etc. over the years.

So... you can imagine my excitement, when on a recent treasure hunt, I came across this vintage silk Vera blouse! It has just a simple bright orange flower detail on the front and it is perfect. This blouse was in mint condition and it just feels so good, airy and comfortable on, but then again there is nothing like the feeling of silk on your skin. Ideal for those days when you want to wear a loose blouse, but still feel polished. Her designs are just timeless.

Inspired

Welcome to another series of inspired. A collection of curated images from people who inspire me, and here is why...

Diana Vreeland

for her impeccably eccentric style and a visual force behind the art of fashion.

{image via: flickr}

Liz Goldwyn

for her dedicated passion and study in vintage clothing and history.

{image via: another magazine}

Brigitte Bardot

for her consistent {sex kitten} or sexy without trying to hard style, oh and of course her killer hair!

{image via: flickr}

Camilla Belle

for a great sense of adding a subtle vintage aesthetic to her style, and her constant image of put together elegance. She reminds me of a modern day Sophia Loren, except the only catch is, she is not italian.

till next time...

Pretty Things {first edition}

one  two  three  four  five  six

There is always something so pretty about pink, polka dots and flowers. Girly yes, but that is just fine by me.
