Baseball Mom

This style board was extra special for me to put together, due to my life connection with baseball. I wear many hats, baseball mom is one of them, (read below if you are interested to know the details...)
So, this is a version of the baseball uniform and essentials that often visit the park with me to my son's games, but you definitely don't have to be a baseball mom to wear this look. It's just one of those great all around classic style looks, for those days when you just feel like being casually tomboy chic. Oh, and I wouldn't mind having that Coach  baseball glove to play catch with at all!

Some Fun Facts:
1. I grew up listening to baseball games on the radio with my grandpa, so this pastime is pretty close to home for me.
2. I have been a legit baseball mom for almost ten years now, since my son was a tee-baller. He is now a Little League Major, All-Star 2nd basemen (time flies).
3. I will gladly kick my heels off and put a baseball glove on to play catch with my son (you better believe I know how to throw a baseball).
4.The Sandlot is still one of our favorite family movies to cuddle up with and watch, we have been indulging in this tradition since my son was three years old (you are never to old to cuddle with your mom).
5.There is no crying in baseball!

Leather Mix

Touches of leather are what this outfit is all about. It just makes everything instantly edgy and chic, especially when paired with sneakers and a varsity jacket. My version of tomboy chic.

I decided to bend the rules a little bit, and wear my leather skirt with sneakers. I like it.

Golden Girls Garbs- Saturday Shorts

Happy Monday!

Whew! Monday comes back around too fast, when you had an eventful weekend. We spent most of our Saturday at the park. My son had a mid-day baseball game. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees, a mild breeze, but plenty of sunshine. So we sat back in our lounge chairs, with a cold ice chest by our side, kicked back, relaxed and watched the game.

My future MLB player pitched 3 innings and pretty much struck everyone, but 2 players out. One hit he caught a line drive and threw it to first, just in time to get the last guy out! It is always such a peaceful, joyful moment to sit back and embrace the blessing of a child. Especially when you can sense the happiness in them, doing what they love!

A perfect day for shorts none the less! So the team mom broke out her red new tennis shoes and proudly delivered the cupcakes after the game!

I love all the amazing flowers that grow in my garden in spring, this lovely pomegranate tree just blossomed!

Enjoy your day!

An American Pastime

Yesterday, me and my little family took a drive up to Phoenix Arizona. We had tickets to see the Arizona Diamondbacks ball game! Both my husband and son are baseball fanatics. I too have a special place in my heart for the old American Pastime. I remember being around 5 years old and listening to games on the radio with my Grandfather. He would always share stories with me about his days growing up with baseball and following players such as Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Jackie Robinson. A definite old time sport on my Vintage entertainment list. So whenever we have the opportunity to catch a game, we are all for it. I have yet to visit the Yankee stadium or Wrigley Field, but I can assure you, they are in my book of possibilities under places to visit lol!

Needless to say we had a great day out at the ball game! Plenty of hot dogs, peanuts and cracker jack's to last me a while lol! I just thought I would share a few pictures of my family enjoying the game. Even though the D-backs did not win, we were not far behind and the final score was 3-5.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a lovely Monday ahead!

xoxo,
Syd

A little boy with big dreams of playing professional baseball someday!

Try eating a corn dog and catching a foul ball at the same time, silly boy!

My patriotic baseball attire!
