Vintage Trinkets: The Newest Lady of the House

Making her debut as the new focal point, on the top of my dresser....Here she is, the newest addition to my family of Lady Heads! I re-arranged some things in my bedroom and made a spot for her...she is the biggest of them all!

Anybody who is a regular reader of this blog, knows that I am completely obsessed with collecting lady heads. Creepy some would say, but I say they are so beautiful in feminine detail, and each one brings an individual touch of lady like glamour to a room! Just another example of my infatuation with pretty-girlie details....couldn't resist.

Does anyone else have a collection of something they would like to share? Or maybe any  fellow lady head hoarders? Do tell.....

XOXO~Syd

  1. Ooh, she's lovely. I'm afraid I just collect. Haha. I do have a collection of vintage cameras and one that's just starting of small, porcelain cats.

  2. She's amazing!! Great find! I'm sort of hoarding 30s knitwear and crochet wear booklets, and french fashion magazines from 1932 and 33. Yep, I'm obscure...

  3. That looks great! I have one head I inherited and I fear adding more. She would look a little miffed, I think. ; }

  4. oh she's really lovely and what a nice spot for her!
    I envy your ability to have a collection, like Andi, I'm afraid I just collect. If it's old and interesting, most likely I have to have it.

  5. Oh wow--what a lovely addition! :) I remember reading an article about lady heads in Mary Engelbreit's "Home Companion" magazine years ago (this had to be the early '00s) and thinking they were so cool! Slightly creepy, maybe; but pretty kitschy--yes! :D

    Besides collecting vintage sewing patterns, I'm not sure what other "formal" collections I have going. Do vintage/antique books with interesting covers/spines count? ;)

  6. She is so lovely! I collect a lot of things. My favourite collections are my postcards (all from between 1901 and 1919), my magazines (the oldest one is from 1953, but most are pre-WW2), and my teacup collection (most of which were given to me by my grandmother). :)
