I love the vintage aesthetic in Shirley Kurata's style! It definitely shows through in, the fashion editorials and bands that she has had the opportunity to style in her career. Zooey Deschanel, The Decemberist, Paper Magazine and campaigns for Oliver Peoples to name a few.....

I recently ran across this article on the (Refinery29) website and was so happy to see that they wrote a feature up about her, and even shared some photos of her living space!

Her house, located in the beautiful Los Feliz area of Hollywood California, is sort of just how I would have pictured it, colorful and perfectly 1960s quaint.

For the Love of Green!

Hey there,

Green is one of those colors that just makes you feel all happy inside when you look at it, sort of like yellow and red do too. Such a versatile color, that can be used in every season and beautiful in so many different shades, from kelly green to mint green.

Vintage Trinkets: The Newest Lady of the House

Making her debut as the new focal point, on the top of my dresser....Here she is, the newest addition to my family of Lady Heads! I re-arranged some things in my bedroom and made a spot for her...she is the biggest of them all!

Anybody who is a regular reader of this blog, knows that I am completely obsessed with collecting lady heads. Creepy some would say, but I say they are so beautiful in feminine detail, and each one brings an individual touch of lady like glamour to a room! Just another example of my infatuation with pretty-girlie details....couldn't resist.

Does anyone else have a collection of something they would like to share? Or maybe any  fellow lady head hoarders? Do tell.....

Vintage Trinkets: Toy Stove

While trotting through all the amazing little antique shops in Bisbee, AZ. I stumbled across this cute little vintage toy stove. I always wonder about the story behind the things I find. For instance; this stove is just one lingering piece, to what was once a whole set of toy household appliances. Did this once belong to a happy little girl in the 1950's, who quietly entertained herself by mocking her mother's actions in the kitchen? Was she inspired and eager to learn the life skill of cooking?

I think it's the inner little girl, still living inside me, that draws my eye to appreciate these little trinkets of cuteness. I love to find things like this, and give them a new home. I found the perfect spot for it on a shelf in my kitchen! Across from my real stove, a mini-version if you will....It fits in quite nicely I have to say!

Some Little Trinket Treats!

Don't you just love it when you go on Vintage shopping days. Hoping to come across something fabulous, even if it is a little trinket or small piece of decor. Then you find it, and at a good price!

Sometimes those are the best little things, in small packages that just make you Vintage happy!

Well over the last month or so, I have been here and there. Picking up some little goodies along the way. I just wanted to share a few of the little things that make me happy to find, collect and put in my home.

1940's era Japan ceramic figure. It's actually separates into salt and pepper shakers!

Vintage paper towel and wax paper wall dispenser (sorry for the glare) but that says paper towels and waxed paper.

Vintage eyeglass stand, just perfect enough to hold my cat-eye's stylishly on my bedside table.

1950's era Mexican siesta ceramic ashtray
In case I forgot to mention before, I love to collect 1940's/50's Mexican and western inspired pieces. The family room in my home is being decorated in this decor.

And the most fabulous find of the hunt! This milk-glass Jergen's cold cream jar. From the 1944 Three Faces campaign. I believe that Vargas was the original artist, proposed to do the artwork on this collection, however that didn't pan out and I don't know the artist that got the job. It is not the Vargas piece on this particular jar. If anyone knows, please do share. I absolutely love the three shade of hair color ads (blonde, red, brunette) that were ever so popular in the golden age of advertising. This little jar has a new home, on top of my bedroom vanity!

Happy Friday!!

Well I woke up this morning, said a prayer thanking God for another day. Then checked on my son while he was still asleep in bed. Gave him a kiss, then headed to the kitchen to pour a glass of orange juice and make some toast. As I sat at the computer getting excited to write my blog this morning and share with you all my darling finds for the week.....


I was even more ecstatic to discover my comment section! Betsy from the delightful blog From Betsy With Love. Informed me that she enjoyed my blog and was going to feature my blog on her post today! I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was and how that just made my day! Her blog is so amazing and successful, that I felt honored to know she thought my little humble blog was worth a look! Thank you Betsy!!


So I found some fabulous little treasures this week. It's the simple little treasures like these that fill a home, make it cozy and make the heart happy to find them!!

This darling picture captured a moment of a Mother & her son. This reminded me of my son and I. I am planning on painting the frame red and putting it up in my kitchen.

Two Love Story books from 1940! Look at the one with the green cover GORGEOUS!!
Four darling little tid bit trays. I love the vibrant colors on these. I am going to put them on my side table in my living room. Next to a vase with peach roses in it! I will post a picture of the final staging at a later time.

I was so excited to find this set of records. Xavier Cugat had an amazing Vintage Latin sound. If you feel like swaying your hips to a Rumba groove. I recommend looking his music up! Besame Mucho is one of my favorite songs!
