Holiday Casual

We all know that playing hostess is a busy job. You never really get to sit and soak, well maybe for the span of about five minutes until someone  needs a refill, or you have to refill the snack dish. Being comfortable while still looking polished is the key, especially if you are hosting in the comforts of your own home.

A little catching up to do….

How are you my lovely blogger friends, I hope your new year is kicking off to a sweet start!

I have been out of the blog groove for a week or so, so today I spent some time catching up with all of my favorite reads and made some time for a quick catch-up post. My recent outfit of the day posts, care of the ever so handy Instagram application for the i-phone-genious! My style moods obviously ran wild and I changed things up quite a bit....

I recently re-discovered this cute argyle vest in the back of my closet (love it when that happens!)  I gave it a new life with this lovely yellow top I thrifted a few months back and my bright blue 1950s cigarette pants!

The days of wool skirts and sweaters are here!

The title of this blog says it all! Well actually, for a long time now. I have been really anxious to wear my winter clothes, but I have to remind myself that I live in Arizona! Can you believe that the high in Tucson on Wednesday was 55 degrees! I know some of you that live in really cold weather are chuckling at me right now, but that is cold for us. I was so thrilled! So here are some pics of my outfits the last couple of days!

Wednesday's Outfit:

Navy, green and yellow argyle print cardigan- vintage inspired repro from guess? "Target!"

1940's inspired dungarees- Freddies of Pinewood

Vintage spectator loafers- estate sale find

My accessories included a yellow skinny belt, vintage spectator purse, 1940's ivory earrings, and a green chiffon scarf tied around the back of my hair.

Thursday's Outfit:

One of my favorite Vintage wool skirts is this little black, red & tan number. I found this at a thrift store about two years ago for a whopping $3.00!

Outfit details: This outfit is definitely a little more 1930's era. My blouse is a Vintage inspired reproduction that I found while shopping for bed sheets at T.J. Maxx last year (love it when you find something you didn't expect to!). It caught my eye because of the deco looking ruffles on the collar and down the front of the blouse (sorry the wind was blowing ruffles and my hair away!) Shortly after I found that fabulous blouse. I found these great reproduction shoes at Dillard's (Steve Madden). Would you believe they have the same pattern of ruffles down the t-strap! I accessorized with a red beret, red belt, black fully fashioned seamed stockings, ivory colored cardigan, Vintage black purse, Vintage ivory earrings and ivory bangle.
