The Perfect Easter Dress!

I believe that you are never too old to get excited about your Easter dress! I remember as a little girl, my Grandmother would take me out shopping year after year, to pick out my special dress. Ruffled socks, fancy shoes, matching bow and all!

Many years have passed since those special days....but I still keep the tradition of dressing myself up for Easter, so here is my big girl dress this year, 2011!

I am really excited about my finds this year!

 vintage 1960s dress: desert vintage {tucson, az}
vintage 1960s Salvatore Ferragamo loafers: buffalo exchange

You can't see them, but I had my favorite little yellow celluloid flower earrings on too...

The dress was a perfect find and color palette for the Easter spirit and I am over the moon about my new purple loafers! Can't wait to see what else I have in my closet to style them with!

Inspired by the Sea

And a new hair-do too!

anchor sweater: f21
vintage 1940s high waist shorts with sailor flap: desert vintage
yellow and white stripe scarf: buffalo exchange
blue tie front wedges: dillards

I was getting really antsy with the same old long straight hair, so I decided that I needed a bit of a change, an uplift if you will. I thought cutting bangs was a simple enough and cost effective minor change. If I didn't like them, they would always grow back, but it turns out I do! Best twenty five dollar haircut in a long time!

So tell me honestly, (it's o.k. I can take it) what do you think?

Black & Yellow

But it's not Wiz Khalifa's jingle I'm talking about......te-he-he!

It's a cute little black & yellow floral printed skirt from the 1950s! Such a sweet piece for Spring!

black lace front cardigan: target
vintage 1950s black and yellow floral print skirt: desert vintage
black ankle strap wedges: buffalo exchange
yellow skinny belt: thrifted
vintage yellow flower celluloid earrings: desert vintage

"The Love Machine"

Well folks it finally arrived, the long anticipated video of "Love Machine!" My dear friend Tina and Alicia of Hip-Hop Soul duo God-Dess and She, came to Arizona to shoot the video for their catchy dance beat- Love Machine. I was gratefully given the opportunity to do all the vintage wardrobe styling, makeup and hair for this throwback to the 1950s. Based on a greaser vs. preppy or drapes vs. squares (whatever you prefer to call it) battle it out plot! So come take a ride with me on the love machine!

Oh ya! I forgot to mention, the handsome little boy in the video, that's my son Romeo.... making his acting debut!

Watch it here!

Talk to you soon!
