Good Afternoon,

I am posting a pic of a pair of fabulous 1940's tooled leather pumps. I recently found these at a local vintage store in downtown Tucson. I absolutely love these shoes, they are gorgeous and in really good condition. These pumps are very reminiscent of Tucson in the 1940's. They are a Mexican style that was very popular in this neck of the woods during that era. They were almost like a souvenir stating that someone had traveled to this part of the United States in search of Arizona's rich Mexican and western culture, lifestyle, traditions and heritage. They are the perfect addition to the Spanish Senoritas outfit. I will pair them with my 1940's Mexican peasant blouse and skirt. I was fortunate enough to inherit a tooled leather purse from the 1940's that was my Nana's. They are almost the exact same color and will match perfectly. Oh yeah! and I can't forget about the gardenia in my hair. I will also be sure to post more pics when I am fully dressed.

New Accomplishment

Hi All!

Just thought that since I finally snapped a pic. I would drop a quick line to show off my favorite blouse and one of my sewing accomplishments! I sewed this blouse from a 1943 pattern. It was actually quite simple, that is probably why I finished it without a complication or my mother's assistance LOL! I found the material at Joann's and was delighted that it was so vintage inspired. I am hoping to make a few more, since it is such a simple everyday blouse and can be paired with trousers or a skirt. Maybe one in yellow, green, navy and white will do!

Yard Sale Steal!!!

Since these things don't happen too often, I just had to share this news! As most of you know. Vintage, in the inexpensive form is getting harder and harder to come by these days. So when you can score a 1940's dress for $2.50. Well to say the least, that just made my day! This dress is in gorgeous condition. No holes or discoloration! It is navy with yellow and white flowers. It also has these fabulous forties style shutter pleats. These people were just trying to clean house and had no idea about the value of this dress. However, that worked to my benefit LOL! I had to take it in just a pinch on the waistline, but heck for $2.50 that is no sweat off my nose! Luckily I already had the perfect color of yellow belt to match and white vintage inspired peep toe pumps. Have a peek!!

XOXO,

Syd Divine
